Our entertainment culture holds us captive in out chesterfields, forcing us to “watch” rather than “do.” Kids bodies getting bigger and minds growing smaller. Video games, HD, DVD, Internet are peculiar developments (particularly in North American Culture) where an artificial sense of well-being is more sought out than getting off our asses and getting the real thing.

That's so true. In combination with the "quick fix" culture, it's hard to convince people that working out and eating right is the only thing that's going to make them feel better:)
