Reading "Nutrition Facts" 101

The foundations for learning about what you eat and how to get the most out of your diet, starts by being able to read the labels or “Nutrition Facts” the your food packaging.

Let’s start from the top:

Serving Size- This is the measured amount of food that is going to be accounted for, in the label. It’s important to consider the whole amount, located on the front of the package and compare with the serving size on the label. Most times it’s a much smaller amount than the whole package. Something that looks like "a serving" to most of us, could easily be 2 or 3!

Try going in to your kitchen and seeing how many servings are in each food item.
It's going to surprise you!
